Unfiltered advice and accountability from one human to another

Empowering men with the tools needed to strengthen their mental fitness and create more meaningful relationships.

Being a man and trying to navigate mindset and relationship issues can be very challenging. This is not because men don’t have the capacity to optimize their mental and relational fitness, but rather they have not been taught how to.

Our primary mission at Fellowship Counseling is to empower men to take control of their mental health by letting go of societal expectations which have made it difficult for them to prioritize their physical, mental, and relational needs.

Together, our team will provide you with the mental training needed to finally become the best version of yourself!

SPECIALTIES

High Stress & Burnout

Trying to manage a professional AND personal life can be challenging. Whether it’s a demanding job, a busy and overwhelming personal life, or both, finding the time and energy to navigate it all can seem impossible at times. Workaholism, “busyaholism,” burnout, lack of energy, imposter syndrome, lack of contentment, unsatisfying relationships, you name it……these are just a few of the many challenges that high achieving men can face. We help men transform their personal AND professional life by creating more balance, meaning, clarity and enjoyment!

Relationship & Intimacy Issues

Men's relationship and intimacy issues can manifest in various forms such as attachment trauma (C-PTSD), excessive pornography use, problematic and compulsive sexual behaviors, significant relational conflict, or an inability to be emotionally intimate and vulnerable.  Men often struggle with intimacy and emotional vulnerability in relationships because of societal pressure to prioritize sexual needs, performance, and net worth over all. This leaves men feeling lonely, inadequate, and highly self-critical. We help men gain a deeper understanding of these issues by looking at their history and resolving underlying trauma and relational wounds.  These often leads to improved self-worth, confidence, and improved relationships in all areas of their lives!

Emerging Adult Issues

Now more than ever, young adults are struggling to overcome personal setbacks to financial freedom and independent adulthood. Commonly referred to as “failure to launch syndrome,” young adults report feeling stuck, overcome by shame and self-doubt related to transitioning into adult roles. They struggle to find the motivation and confidence needed to take on the responsibilities of independent life. This dynamic results in significant family conflict and leaves both parents and adult children feeling helpless, frustrated, and at a loss for what to do next. We work with young adults and their families to overcome this stuckness and help them reach the independence and freedom they so desperately want. We will provide the tools, resources, guidance, and support needed to finally launch into adulthood feeling empowered, confident, free, and ready to pursue a positive future!

Personality Disorders
Borderline / Narcissism / Antisocial

Personality disorders are essentially patterns of behaving in the world that result in ongoing emotional and relational issues that become wrapped up in one’s personality and sense of self. Typically personality disorders make it difficult for a person to function optimally due to their approach to life and relationships. We treat personality disorders tendencies from a relational trauma lens. We help men understand how their personality traits have allowed them to survive the traumas of their past and re-create their sense of self in the present.

Suicidal Ideation & Self-harm

Safety and crisis behaviors can cause significant distress in an individuals life and result in added fear and shame to the healing process. Unfortunately, people can get stuck on a path of constant safety planning and crisis management. This can result in prolonged hopelessness with no sense of progress. We work with men struggling with safety concerns to understand how these behaviors have served them in the short term, and identify new ways to get their emotional and relational needs met in the long term.

INDIVIDUAL SERVICES

Standard Therapy

A standard therapy session will involve us working collaboratively to identify and target your goals. We will identify objectives that will allow us to track your progress and ensure movement in the right direction. We will address barriers to achieving your goals by teaching practice tools to. We will utilize various treatment modalities into sessions based on what your immediate needs are. We are firm believers in doing what works!

Comprehensive DBT Therapy

A comprehensive DBT session is slightly different than a standard therapy session. While we still take time to check in and address any immediate concerns you have, there is more structure and accountability to a DBT session. We will develop concrete, behavioral goals (which DBT refers to as your “life worth living”) and target them based on importance. You will also have access to your DBT therapist for between session phone coaching to ensure you are using the skills taught during session. DBT is a great model for anyone struggling with big emotions and self-destructive behaviors.

Couples/Family Therapy

A couples or family therapy session will be focused on addressing more structural issues in the family or social system. As humans, we are greatly impacted by the people we surround ourselves with. Therefore, it is important to ensure we are nurturing and caring for our relationships. We will set collaborative goals that everyone agrees upon and will track progress as a whole system. When working with couples or families we see the relationship as the primary client, NOT the individuals.

Good Faith Estimate Information

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

  • You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
